Flowers and Weeds is a study of time spent in Belgium and sees the coming together of landscape and portraiture. Produced over the course of a year the landscape work was the result of my regular wanderings around Brussels and further afield. Simultaneously I was collecting photographs from the daily flea market, these pictures, generally portraits were chosen as I searched through boxes on my hands and knees. Now, brought together, the unknown characters inhabit the landscape,staring back at us as if blown by the wind and snagged in the grass.
